The Perfect Backpacking Trip Designed for You

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Two of Just Roughin’ It’s primary backpacking destinations are Yosemite and the Grand Canyon.

Did you know Yosemite has over 1,200 square miles perfect for hiking and camping? With such a great variety of trails, our tour guides can help you choose the trip that best fits your level of skill and experience, as well as the number of days you plan to be gone.

So whether you’re a beginning backpacker or a seasoned trekker, you’ll get the perfect trip.

Some of the Yosemite destinations you can choose from are Half Dome, Little Yosemite Valley, Merced Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, Red Peak, and Ottoway Lakes. The waterfalls, mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests in between are just an added bonus.

As with Yosemite, when touring the Grand Canyon, you’ll have the benefit of enjoying a backpacking trip that is made to order for your level of skill and timeframe.

Havasu Falls

We know all the trails around the rim as well as down into the Canyon. Our preferred Grand Canyon backpacking trips are Phantom Ranch, Havasu Falls, Horseshoe Mesa, South Bass, Bright Angel Loop, South Kaibab, and various trails such as Hermit, Grandview, and Tonto trails.

If time is an issue, Just Roughin’ It even offers Grand Canyon day hikes for both beginners and experienced hikers.

Our backpacking trips are inclusive – since meals and camping gear are provided, you’ll have a lot less to worry about when planning your adventure vacation. Simply put, Just Roughin’ It tours make sure you are prepared and safe without taking any of the sense of adventure out of your vacation.

We don’t want you to be content with merely observing nature’s magnificent wonders. We have made it our goal to see to it that you have the adventure of a lifetime while experiencing nature firsthand!

Will Ferrell To Appear On ‘Man vs Wild’

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

This apparently is no joke. Will Ferrell spent two days surviving in the snow covered wilderness of northern Sweden with Bear Grylls for an upcoming episode of ”Man vs. Wild”.  According to one source, Will ate reindeer eyeballs and drank his own urine. Way to go Will, I knew you had it in ya.

The episode will air in early June to coincide with the release of Universal Pictures, “Land of the Lost” starring Will. It’s a great tie in to the movie and if I were to pick any star that is crazy enough to tag along with our favorite crazy man, Bear Grylls, my money would be on Mr Ferrell.

Ferrell commented on his experience,” To be able to participate in an episode of “Man vs Wild’ was a thrill of a lifetime even though I did get urine-drunk, which is sad.”

Couple in Arizona Attacked by Golden Arches

Friday, April 17th, 2009

If the food won’t kill you, the signs just might! Reminiscent of the Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror VI, a McDonald’s icon, the golden arches, wreaked havoc in the small town of Window Rock, AZ and crushed a car.  Unfortunatley, the Illinois couple that owned the car was still in it.

The golden arches refused to comment so we can only speculate on its motives.  The most obvious explanation is the Simpson’s Tree House of Horror episode where all the advertising icons came to life and started destroying the town of Springfield out of revenge was prophetic and we are all doomed.  This act of vengeance was likely triggered by the public demand for a healthier menu and a decrease in super-size orders.  Witnesses of the incident speculate that the 60 mph winds may have been responsible, but that is highly unlikely.
